I Have this Garden of Poems

full of flowers that bloom
at first
and then carried away with my greenthumb
i planted everything
trees and more trees and shrubs and bamboos
and vines and hanging plants

almost everything
and so the blooming flowers died
and the grasses diminishing like some
hair of this baldness

but nothing is lost in this garden of poems
the birds came and built their nests
some are still coming
every morning
and then the chirping begins

With Tiger Eyes

Dawn approaches with tall grass so pail and dry
a breeze of silence endures the heat, burning through the sky
by the river he lays restrained watching his prey
observing each move calculating the perfect route

Stillness overwhelms his senses as one
repositioning his paw waiting to strike with a roar
a flawless perception in his eyes with reflection
tiger eyes intact seeing the most perfect attack

Dry grass so dangerous flawless is the key
fascinating to see nature overpowering what's to be
