The darkened sky comes alive with jagged bolts of electricity
An horrible explosion as a tree is split by this mighty power
A low rumbling sound that builds to a crescendo of deafening magnitude
The little girl pulls the covers over her head in fright
Her dog snuggled at her side in protection as she clasp her hands in prayer
Motorist are stopped and parked ,the rain making the roads invisible
Lightning flashing illuminating the surroundings of flooded roads
There's a low rumbling sound that quickly builds to a deafening roar
Looking in the direction of the noise ,horrified sees a wall of mud rushing toward a car
In the back window a small boy eyes wide in fear, clasp his hands in prayer
Just miles down the road, a family awaits rescue from their flooded home
On the roof they hold each other trying to shelter the children from the cold
They have been there for hours, the water has risen and now occupies their home
Lightening flashes as they see all that has been lost
Arms around each other they bow their heads in prayer
The rain subsides , just a trickle now and the lightening diminishes
The little girl is comforted and again sleeps, the wall of mud stopped in it's tracks
A rescue helicopter spots the family and waves in recognition of help
Was this divine intervention ?or maybe it was just coincidence?
Here's my pen, you write the end
